DYT Team Leader (Canada Summer Jobs Grant)

LOCATIONS: Various Locations in Lower Mainland

POSITION STATUS: Summer Contract, Full Time - 13 weeks

 

TERMS: June 12, 2023 - August 18, 2023 - Dates are not yet confirmed. 

 

SHIFT: Monday to Friday, with varying shifts and occasionally on weekends. 

NOTE: These positions are contingent on the funding of the Canada Summer Jobs Grant. Applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 30, Canadian citizens or permanent residents, and be entitled to work in Canada. 

NATURE & SCOPE: If you want to work with kids, we are looking for you! DYT Team Leader is passionate about working with children and families and is committed to providing leadership to a team of DYT Staff and Counsellors in Training. Under the direction of the DYT Program Administrator Team, the Team Leader will work directly within the summer programs, providing care and creative programming for young children ages 5 to 16 in a fun, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising DYT Staff (DYT Leader, Contract Staff, and Personal support worker) and providing evaluation

  • Facilitate games and activities for campers

  • Engage and build relationships with campers

  • Ensure all campers are safe and supervised

  • Follow all DYT policies and procedures
     

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-year supervisory experience

  • Two years of experience working with children in a childcare/recreational setting

  • Current Standard First Aid certificate and CPR-C & AED required
