DYT Team Leader (Canada Summer Jobs Grant)

LOCATIONS: Various Location in Lower Mainland and at Hornby Island - Tribune Bay Outdoor Education Centre

 

POSITION STATUS: Seasonal Contract, Full Time - 13 weeks

 

TERMS: June 8, 2020 - August 21, 2020 - Date are not yet confirmed. 

 

SHIFT: Monday to Friday, with varying shifts and occasionally on weekends. 

NOTE: These positions are contingent on the funding of the Canada Summer Jobs Grant. Applicants are required to be between the ages of 15 and 30, a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident and entitled to work in Canada. 

NATURE & SCOPE: If you want to work with kids we are looking for you! DYT Team Leader has a passion for working with children and families and are committed to providing leadership to a team of DYT Staff and Counsellor in Training. Under the direction of the DYT Program Administrator Team, the Team Leader will work directly within the summer programs, providing care and creative programming for young children ages 5 to 16 in a fun, fast paced enviroment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising DYT Staff (DYT Leader, Contract Staff, and Personal support worker) and providing evaluation

  • Facilitate games and activities for campers

  • Engage and build relationships with campers

  • Ensure all campers are safe and supervised

  • Follow all DYT policies and procedures
     

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year supervisory experience

  • Two years’ experience working with children in a child care/recreational setting

  • Current Standard First Aid certificate and CPR-C & AED required

 

Additional Qualifications ​(assets)

  • Valid Driver License
