DYT is happy to offer the Baby Sitters Certification Course through the Canadian Red Cross. This course is open to our Counsellor in Training youth as well as any Deaf/HOH youth age 11-18 years.
The babysitting course has an emphasis on First Aid Skills. It covers everything from managing difficult behaviours to essential contract on leadership and professional conduct as a babysitter. Babysitting promises to depend on and enhance the responsibility that older youth feel when caring for younger children. This updated curriculum, complete with new science, also provides improved learning when it comes to giving the appropriate care in the event of an emergency.
