These strategies and skills apply to all ages, from young children through to adulthood, and have been proven effective in the literature time and again for persons of all ages with a wide range of needs and abilities. The workshop series will allow for parents and their support people to work together on understanding problem behaviour and planning intervention, with direct support from me, both in the planning and intervention stages. DCS has already established services to families who are now school age. We will offer our first Outreach Program in Kelowna area in February. SFCD Children's Program Presently we are developing the children's and youth programs. These programs are offered at the same time as the evening sign classes for parents and include a variety of recreational, skill development and educational workshops for the different age groups. Siblings are encouraged to participate with their deaf or hard of hearing brother or sister. Our goal is to strengthening the bond, understanding and the communication between family members. ---
